Konductor

Welcome to Konductor'11

If you need help with the original 'Cara' based version of Konductor then please see here.

User Guide

A few things have changed from the original Konductor app, most notably it's now a universal application which will run on all iOS devices making full use of the available screen space and supports the new Linn 'Davaar' firmware.

Room Selection

'11 uses device discovery & is room aware.

If you only have 1 DS system - and hence only one room, Konductor should just work. There will be no room selection icon and no startup room option. After all you only have one room!

If however you are lucky enough to have more than one room with a DS then when you start Konductor (after the first time - when you will get this help page) you will have a list of rooms to choose from displayed. After you have selected a room, your choice will be remembered and used in the future. A room selection icon will be added to the main display to allow you to choose between your available rooms.

Media Server Setup

Prior to its first use, Konductor'11 needs to be configured with the IP address and configuration of your Media Server. Please see the Settings page for instructions on how this is done.

Views

Konductor had three different views to allow it to view the DSs playlist, control the current track and browse the media library.

Each view is selected by changing the orientation of the iPhone.

Playlist View

The playlist view is Konductor's statup view and is displayed when the iPhone is held vertically and the right way up.

This view shows the DSs internally held playlist with all the tracks segregated into albums. Each album can be expanded to show its tracks by selecting its title.

To play a track just press on the track's title.

Individual tracks or whole albums can be deleted by selecting the waste basket to their right.

Now Playing View

Turn the iPhone on its side and the Now Playing emerges, this allows you to play previous, next track. Pause / play, toggle shuffle and repeat. Power and source selection are in the top left hand corner. If you have a pre-amp attached then the volume is displayed to the right, otherwise it is blank. If you have more than one room then a room selection icon is displayed in the top right hand corner with the name of the currently selected room underneath. Mute and un-mute by clicking the right hand array (volume level is red when mutted).

Turn your iPhone over to reveal the library view. Add a single track to the DS's playlist by selecting it, or add the whole album by tapping the album's title at the top of the page.
